The Spanish conqueror brought plants, breaded in Europe, to the tropical Medellin area of Columbia in order to exploit the local population on their profitable estates.
Remark: The contours of the Spanish ships resembles the silhouette of “La Piedra Del Peñol”, the black granite mountain. The background colours of this picture come from the Columbian national flag.

De Spaanse veroveraar bracht in Europa gekweekte koffieplanten mee om vervolgens in het tropische Medellin gebied van Columbia de bevolking uit te melken op hun winstgevende plantages.
Opmerking: De Spaanse bootjes hebben een vorm die sterk overeenkomt met het silhouet van “La Piedra Del Peñol”, de zwarte granieten berg. De kleuren van de Colombiaanse vlag tekenen passend de achtergrond van dit schilderij.
