Tsar Peter the Great rules and is working to modernize the country. Inspired by Amsterdam he founded his St. Petersburg, surrounded by palaces and more than 40 canals. The winter palace ever built for the Russian tsars, now known as The Hermitage, is the home to a wealth of art. Two dancers of Matisse got off the hook and seem to run out of the painting, swirling on the roof of the Winter Palace and the many bridges of St. Petersburg. The church towers do not deny their origins, and get the face of peasant girls, the famous Matryoshka dolls. The revolutionary cruiser Aurora is calling but it is peaceful.

Het Paleizen Rijk
Tsaar Peter de Grote regeert en werkt aan de modernisering van het land. Geïnspireerd door Amsterdam sticht hij zijn stad Sint Petersburg, omringd door paleizen en meer dan 40 grachten. Het winterpaleis ooit gebouwd voor de Russische tsaren, nu bekend als De Hermitage, herbergt een schat aan kunstwerken. Twee dansers van Matisse ontspringen de dans en lijken zo uit het schilderij te lopen, zwierend over het dak van het winterpaleis en de vele bruggen die Sint Petersburg rijk is. De kerktorens verloochenen hun afkomst niet, en krijgen het gezicht van boerenmeisjes, de bekende Matroesjka’s. Ook de revolutionaire Aurora kruiser laat van zich horen maar ligt er vredig bij.
