Mwano

Mwano has studied design. She works as a graphic designer and fashion illustrator at a large business in the city of Cape Town. She travels around the world. She has always worked as an independent artist in her own free time. She was born in the city of Cape Town, South Africa and graduated in the middle of the nineties at the National School of Art in Braam Fountain, Johannesburg. Her exuberant color use and graphic precision, declare her interest for Toyism. With the unmistakable African influences in her work Mwano will and can strengthen Toyism certainly an international art.

Mwano heeft design gestudeerd en werkt als grafisch ontwerper en mode illustrator bij een groot bedrijf in Kaapstad en reist veel over de wereld. Ze is geboren en getogen in Kaapstad en is midden jaren 90 afgestudeerd aan de National School of the Arts in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Ze is daarna gaan werken als grafisch ontwerper in Kaapstad, maar heeft daarnaast altijd vrij werk gedaan. Onder meer haar uitbundige kleurgebruik en grafische precisie verklaren haar belangstelling voor het Toyisme. Met de onmiskenbare Afrikaanse invloeden in haar werk zal zij het Toyisme als internationale kunststroming zeker kunnen versterken.
